My second meeting with my partner went just as well as the first. We met in the library this time. I showed him basic email operations here. However, the library closed about twenty minutes later so we had to relocate to the Smith building.
For the rest of the period, we studied verbs, which he mentioned are of prime concern to him. I printed out a nineteen-page list of english verbs. We went through these verbs one-by-one, until the end of the period. We decided that we would continue in subsequent meeting periods.
This meeting was a fiarly ordinary meeting but I feel that in addition to the progress we are making with his English, we are getting to know each other better.

Eddie, I'm so glad that you're having positive experiences with Mr. Ramirez too. The other day I was walking to class and he drove by me in one of the physical plant trucks and yelled "Hey Teacher!"
I hope that your meeting goes well this week. We worked on more verb meanings that he brought during this meeting and also looked at some homonyms and other common words that sound very similar. I think that there is so much to learn/teach about verbs that we could both discuss this at all of our meetings and there would still be more to go over!
Eddie, I am so happy to hear that you and your partner are getting to know each other more through this unique learning process. I know that I value to time I have spent getting to know my partner. It truly does open your eyes to the community around us. I have learned that just talking to our partners can benefit them in ways we cannot imagine. Working on nineteen pages of verbs will also help a great deal as well. You both sound very ambitious and determined, and I hope that the sessions that follow prove to be progressive and enlightening.
Hi Eddie, Thanks for the post. I am glad that you're second meeting went well. Focusing on verbs is a good idea, since English verbs tend to be so irregular. But just speaking helps a lot. This is really the best way to learn the language. I agree with Abby's comment--working with partners like this is really an eye-opening experience. Best,
Dan W.
It is good to hear that you are getting to know your partner better. That verb list sounds extremely long! I think it is great that you are introducing him with all that material.
